Academic Degree and field of specialization:

I have developed my university education and initial investigations at University of Granada (Spain): Graduate in Geology (2009), Official Master (2011) and Ph.D. Thesis (2015) under the supervision of J. Galindo-Zaldívar and A. Pedrera outstanding Maxima Cum Laude qualification and International Mention. This thesis has obtained two awards in 2016: IV Onubenses Researches Award by International University of Andalucía – Atlantic Copper Foundation, and best Geophysical Pure or Applied Ph.D. Thesis 2015 made in Spanish or Ibero-American Universities awarded by Foundation J. García–Siñeriz (Spain).

My research career is focused in the application of geophysical, geological and geodetic techniques for detection and characterization of shallow structures underground. Geophysical techniques applied are: (i) microgravity, (ii) magnetic, (iii) electrical resistivity tomography and induced polarization, (iv) seismic refraction and reflection tomography, (v) GPR, (vi) TDEM and (vii) magnetotelluric methods. All them together with differential GPS. These techniques have been applied on cavities studies, which compose the main line of my Ph.D. Thesis, as well as hydrological, engineering and shallow investigations as geo-hazards problems. During the development of my Ph.D. thesis, I performed two stays in the Geology and Geophysics Research Institute Dom Luiz (University of Lisbon, Portugal) under the supervision of Prof. Monteiro Santos. I notably improved my knowledge and applications in gravity, electromagnetic and electrical methods.

Nowadays I develop a postdoctoral fellowship in Institute Dom Luiz (University of Lisbon) in cooperation with Professor Monteiro Santos. Our investigations in course are focused on the application of geophysical methods (mainly TDEM, gravity, electrical tomography and magnetotelluric) in a wide range of areas: hydrogeological studies in volcanic islands (Cabo Verde, Açores), geothermic, environmental and contamination researches, hydrocarbons, mining and civil engineering ones among others.
